REBOL Directions

Posted on Wednesday, 2007-January-17. Filed under: REBOL |

The REBOL Technologies site has a look at their planned directions for 2007.  I am hoping that this is not vaporware, but RT is a small company, so the community will have to get behind them in this.  The Internet Operating System, the AltMe system, and the "viewtop" are being tied together, so that there is a single "lightweight runtime environment for distributed Internet applications".

It is my hope that the community steps up, and that RT continues to provide the right openings for the community to do so.  The roadmap for version 3.0 contains some exciting elements, but will require quite a few extra hands to pull off.  A quick read of the roadmap shows that Carl is banking on the help of many hands on the 3.0 plan.

Just looking at the comments about RT's priorities, it is obvious that people are anxious to move REBOL to the next level.

If you have the C background and operating system API knowledge to do so, RT needs your help.
